- Bio
I was born in Richmond and blessed to a part of a very loving and large ethnic family. Some who know us might say we resemble the family from My Big Fat Greek Wedding and I would have to agree but with a Mexican flair to it.
I was raised in a catholic home that had great love and faith in God. Growing up though, I never felt like I got much out of church. Then in high school I started attending Young Life, and for the first time in my life I realized that it wasn’t religion that was important but a relationship with Jesus. Although I had asked Jesus to be my Lord and Savior in high school, it wasn’t until my late 20’s when I realized my need for my Savior in my everyday life. As a young wife to my high school sweetheart Tommy and with 2 young children, Miller and Jessica, it was then that I knew I couldn’t go on just trying to figure out the whole marriage/parenting thing on my own. I started attending Community Bible Study, and while being in His word with other women with the same questions and life experiences I knew then and still know now that God has the answers for my life and for everyone’s.
My children are grown now, and my husband and I just celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary, with the best years of our marriage starting when we invited Christ to be the head of our marriage and family. I facilitated the high school home schoolers for 6 years at CBS, and I still attend CBS. I love hosting young adults in our home every week, knowing that they are getting to know God in such a personal way that only His Word can give.
I started working at Hope in June of 2007. God, by way of a miracle, and my friend Karen Wood, got my resume to Hope and I have been blessed to work with the staff and the entire Hope family ever since.
